The 4 Rs Values Programme at Parua Bay School incorporates the education and promotion of:
Relationships Respect Resilience Responsibility
This Values Programme was introduced in 2018, and coincided with the initiation of the new school vision of “Navigating Learning Together”.
Each term there is a specific focus for values education:
- Term 1 - Relationships,
- Term 2 - Respect,
- Term 3 - Resilience,
- Term 4 - Responsibility.
Certificates are awarded to students displaying these values during Whanau Time every Monday afternoon. This whanau time is also an opportunity for the students to assemble in a “tuakana Teina” environment, and learn about these values in a diverse range of contexts, games and situations.
These values are promoted, taught and celebrated as part of everyday school life at parua Bay School. The Values are represented in the new school logo by the four hoe in the waka. The Four hoe Values Designs and the values posters adorn all the walls of all rooms in the school.
