Reading, writing and mathematics are important aspects of a child’s schooling, but often it is only during camp situations that children learn the most about themselves and suddenly discover what they are capable of. At Parua Bay School we are proud to offer camp experiences to students from Years 3-8.
Camps at Parua Bay School are an integral part of all students’ education and we believe the diverse range of amazing experiences the children have during their years at the school empowers them to become the well rounded, mature and resilient graduates that leave us in Year 8 to go on to Secondary education.
Many primary schools will only offer these outdoor experiences to their senior students in Year 6. However, we feel it is vitally important for our tamariki to be given the opportunity to be away from home, learning skills, values and aptitudes in a unique environment surrounded by their friends and teachers.
Duration of Camps by Year group:
Years 3-4 – 1 night away
Years 5-6 – 2-3 nights away
Years 7-8 – 4 nights away
