Parua Bay School Parents and Teachers Association (P.T.A.)
All parents whose children are enrolled at Parua Bay School are considered to be part of the School PTA.
Committee meetings are held once a month and everyone is welcomed and encouraged to attend. One of the roles of the School P.T.A. is to help fundraising for the school. This provides extra benefits for the children and is also a link between parents, school, and the Board of Trustees.
The majority of the fundraising is done through social activities and helps to create a good community spirit. Please consider becoming an active member of our school P.T.A. Major fundraising efforts in the past have seen substantial purchases of interactive whiteboards for all our classrooms, improvements to our swimming pool, a large adventure playground and lots of computer equipment. Fundraising events which have been particularly successful in the past have been Parents’ Discos, Quiz nights, Summer Shows, Country Day Shows .
However, this is only one small part of the P.T.A. mechanism; a major focus for the school, as documented in the annual School Charter, is to strengthen community connectivity between the the school and the parents of Parua Bay School. To this end, it is hoped the P.T.A. will serve to strengthen these links through some social events where the key focus is "fun/relationships" as opposed to fundraising.
