Board of Trustees

The Role of the Board of Trustees

Boards of trustees play a critical role in partnership with the school principal to ensure all children at the school succeed.

The responsibility of a Board is that of governance and overview of management of the school via the Charter and Annual Plan prepared by the Principal and the Board with reference to the stakeholder groups at the school.

Daily management of the school is the responsibility of the Principal and the teaching team. A Board member is not expected or required to spend time involved in day to day management of school activities.

The Board meets from 7 pm to 9 pm on Tuesday evenings once a month from February to December. There may be occasional additional meetings due to special projects etc which may involve the Board.

The Board environment is friendly and encourages input from all Board members. The Board is a member of the New Zealand School Trustees Association (“NZSTA”) and has access to all training material, courses and expert advice offered by the NZSTA.

We have a supportive and very committed Board of Trustees.

Board of Trustees meetings are normally held on the third Wednesday evening of each month at 7.00 pm in the school staffroom. Copies of minutes are available at the school office. You are welcome to attend meetings.

Our Board of Trustees members are:

  • Mr James Buckland

  • Mrs Tangiwai Baker
