Parua Bay School is seeking a full-time, permanent caretaker to start in February 2023. We are a co-educational state full primary school of approximately 320 students, catering for Years 1 - 8. We are situated in the picturesque coastal community of Parua Bay on the stunning Whangarei Heads peninsula.
This is a busy hands-on role that is critical to the effective operation of our school. You will work 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday) over 52 weeks, inclusive of annual leave (to be taken in consultation with the Principal). The primary role of the Caretaker is to manage building compliance and ensure that the school buildings and grounds are maintained to a high standard.
This position will suit someone who is physically fit; has excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills; can interact in a professional manner with staff, students, contractors and our community; has a high attention to detail, shows initiative and can maintain an overall safe environment.
Duties will include being a key member of the Health & Safety Committee, building maintenance, upkeep of gardens, compliance checks and liaising with contractors. The position reports to the Principal.
A full driver's Licence is essential.
Conditions and remuneration are according to the School Caretakers' and Cleaners' Collective Agreement.
The successful applicant will be required to undertake a Police Vet Check.
